Our client, a well-established nonprofit social services organization in the Scranton area, is seeking a Part-Time Bookkeeper to join their accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking for flexibility, as the organization offers the ability to create your own schedule Monday through Friday while working 20-25 hours per week.
The Bookkeeper will support day-to-day accounting operations, reconciliations, billing, and financial recordkeeping while working closely with a collaborative accounting team of approximately seven professionals.
* Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable posting and reconciliation
* Perform bank, credit card, and debit card reconciliations
* Support agency billing and communication with funding sources
* Maintain financial records and assist with general bookkeeping functions
* Perform internal audits within fiduciary programs
* Assist with caregiver and representative payee services as needed
* Support general ledger activities and financial record accuracy
* Complete additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned
* Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
* QuickBooks Online experience required
* Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations
* General ledger experience preferred
* Experience with AccuFund is a plus
* Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
* Excellent communication skills
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office
